There's a chance two players who haven't touched a Football in two weeks could start at wide receiver for the Raiders.
Javon Walker is out with a bone separation in his left ankle and needs surgery. The other starter, rookie Chaz Schilens, has been limited in practice all week by a sprained ankle.
That could lead to some shuffling of the receiver rotation. Ashley Lelie will start for Walker. Ronald Curry, the team captain who was inactive for last weekend's game against Carolina, will start if Schilens can't play.
"We need to wait until Sunday morning to really make that decision," interim head coach Tom Cable said. "(Schilens) was better (Friday). He limped around a little bit (Thursday), but he was better (Friday)."
The news that Walker would have a pin inserted in his ankle surprised the team because he returned to the Carolina game after injuring his ankle.
Promoting wide receiver Jonathan Holland from the practice squad would be an option, but the Raiders have the five receivers they would normally dress for games. Aside from Lelie, Schilens and Curry, Johnnie Lee Higgins and Todd Watkins will be available.
It's a draw -- The competition to determine the starting left tackle produced no winner.
So Kwame Harris will start, and Mario Henderson will still see time. Unlike last week, when Harris played most of the game, Cable will try to give them equal time.
Henderson played only in the second quarter against Carolina. Cable had hoped to name a starter Friday.
"Both of them stepped it up, so that's a good problem," Cable said. "Now let's let them go play."
He's back -- Cable said quarterback JaMarcus Russell would start after missing the Carolina game with tendinitis and a bone bruise on his right knee.
Russell was limited in practice Friday but looked good enough to be declared the starter.
"I'd say he's good to go," Cable said.
Russell's backup, Andrew Walter, was limited Friday, but he still could be No. 2 after missing two days of practice. If not, Marques Tuiasosopo would be the backup.
Running back Darren McFadden (toe) and safety Gibril Wilson (back) were also limited but are expected to play, with Wilson starting at strong safety. Defensive end Derrick Burgess (triceps), center Jake Grove (calf) and linebacker Ricky Brown (groin) did not practice.
Jay Richardson, John Wade and Sam Williams will replace them in the starting lineup, respectively.
New returner -- Justin Miller, who joined the team Thursday, will return kickoffs in place of Higgins.
Higgins still will return punts. Miller was claimed off waivers from the New York Jets on Wednesday.
