Foschi played with Oakland from 2004 to 2006 after previously spending time with the New York Jets, Denver and Minnesota as an undrafted free agent. Foschi's most productive season came in 2005 when he started five games and caught six passes for 37 yards.
After spending 2007 out of the NFL, Foschi resurfaced with Kansas City last season and appeared in seven games. He had no receptions.
The Raiders have three other tight ends (rookie Brandon Myers, Darrell Strong and nine-year veteran Tony Stewart) behind starter Zach Miller.
Foschi, who turns 27 on Monday, played collegiately at Georgia Tech.
