
ENGLEWOOD -- Among last year's Arkansas running backs, Darren McFadden had the gaudy college statistics and the great draft pedigree and Felix Jones had the breathtaking big-play ability.
Peyton Hillis? He's the one with the starting tailback job.
Nobody could have imagined that scenario when Hillis was a fullback lead blocking
for McFadden and Jones last year, or when Hillis was drafted six rounds after his teammates in April. But McFadden,
the fourth pick of the draft by the Raiders, will likely come off the bench behind starting tailback Justin Fargas when Oakland comes to Denver on Sunday. Jones, the 22nd pick of the draft by Dallas, is done for the season because of a toe injury.
And there's Hillis, a seventh-round pick of the Broncos in April, coming off his first career start at tailback. He had 44 yards and two touchdowns against Atlanta on Sunday.
