Running back Chris Perry finally appears healthy after two injury-plagued seasons, while 2008 first-round draft pick Keith Rivers should make an immediate impact at linebacker.

Oakland: On paper, this is the most talented Raiders roster since the team's 2002 Super Bowl run. The big question is how much time will quarterback JaMarcus Russell need to develop after starting just one game as a rookie.

Carolina: Considered a Super Bowl contender in the 2007 preseason, everyone has jumped off the Panthers' bandwagon after last year's 7-9 record. But that vehicle may start to get crowded once again if quarterback Jake Delhomme (elbow surgery) and defensive end Julius Peppers (2.5 sacks in 2007) regain their previous form.
