Five teams flying under NFL's radar
Similar to my take on the overlooked Redskins, here are five other teams who could be flying under the NFL radar:

Cincinnati: Despite their losing history, any team with offensive firepower like the Bengals can't be completely overlooked. Running back Chris Perry finally appears healthy after two injury-plagued seasons, while 2008 first-round draft pick Keith Rivers should make an immediate impact at linebacker.

Oakland: On paper, this is the most talented Raiders roster since the team's 2002 Super Bowl run. The big question is how much time will quarterback JaMarcus Russell need to develop after starting just one game as a rookie.

Carolina: Considered a Super Bowl contender in the 2007 preseason, everyone has jumped off the Panthers' bandwagon after last year's 7-9 record. But that vehicle may start to get crowded once again if quarterback Jake Delhomme (elbow surgery) and defensive end Julius Peppers (2.5 sacks in 2007) regain their previous form.

Chicago: When it comes to defense and special teams, the Bears might have the NFL's best combined units. Chicago just needs some better offensive play to become a dark-horse contender in the wide-open NFC North.

New York Jets: Well, these Jets were under the radar until trading for quarterback Brett Favre. After a wild offseason spending spree, Favre could be the missing piece that puts New York back in the playoffs.
