Ex-Pack coach Sanders joins Bills
Recently fired Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Bob Sanders has joined the Buffalo Bills as their defensive line coach.

Sanders, hired Wednesday, fills the role vacated by Bill Kollar, who left Buffalo this month to become the Houston Texans' defensive line coach. Sanders spent four seasons at Green Bay, including the past three as defensive coordinator.

He was dismissed Jan. 5 along with most of the Packers' defensive staff. Sanders broke into the NFL in 2001 with Miami, where he spent four seasons as the Dolphins' linebackers coach.

Cable stays as Raiders coach? All signs point to Oakland Raiders managing general partner Al Davis making interim head coach Tom Cable the team's regular coach soon.

However, Cable has not signed a contract, and any such move isn't imminent, contrary to an ESPN report.

Davis has interviewed Cable, New York Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride and Green Bay Packers assistant head coach/linebackers coach Winston Moss for the job Cable held the final 12 games last season after he replaced the fired Lane Kiffin.

The Raiders named Paul Hackett their quarterbacks coach. He was their advance scout last season.

Briefly: Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees won the FedEx Ground and Air NFL players of the year. The company will donate $25,000 to the Safe Kids USA coalitions in Minneapolis and New Orleans in their honor.

Dallas tight end Jason Witten was chosen NFL Neighborhood MVP for work he does through the player's S.C.O.R.E. Foundation, which helps families and individuals affected by domestic violence.

Atlanta general manager Thomas Dimitroff, who helped transform the Falcons into a playoff team this season, was chosen Sporting News executive of the year.

Houston third-year tight end Owen Daniels is headed to the Pro Bowl for the first time as a replacement for San Diego's Antonio Gates.
