Javon Walker doesn’t seem like one of those “what happens in Vegas…” type fellows, but following his last month, he understandably wants to put all that in the rearview and get on with the business of preparing for the 2008 NFL season.
Fair enough, because, really, who can blame him for not being particularly chatty when questioned about how he ended up robbed, beatdown and unconscious on a Las Vegas sidewalk five weeks ago. “I ain’t talking about that,” Walker said when asked about his reported injuries, including fractures to his jaw and orbital bone, listed in a police report. …
“Y’all telling me something new for the first time,” Walker said. ” … I haven’t really seen nothing about [the Vegas incident]. Except that I think we have a pretty good idea of what happened (well, save this; maybe Walker can clear up).
Offseason issues aside, the Raiders and Walker claim there are no “ill effects from the beating”, and the former Bronco wideout, who signed with the Raiders this spring for $55 million over six years, has looked good during training camp. Just ask JaMarcus Russell.Continue Reading
